The MC100EP016AFAG is a high-speed, synchronous, presettable, cascadeable 8-bit binary counter based on ECL (Emitter-Coupled Logic) technology, manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It delivers superior speed performance up to 1.3 GHz and includes temperature compensation for stable operation across wide environmental conditions.
Synchronous operation ensures all bits update simultaneously on clock edges, minimizing skew.
TCLD (Terminal Count Load) Pin controls feedback to the terminal count (TC) output:
- TCLD = LOW (or open): TC feedback disabled; free-running continuous count, TC goes LOW when all bits are 1
- TCLD = HIGH: TC feedback enabled; counter automatically reloads when TC goes LOW, acting as a programmable divider
- Differential clock input for improved noise immunity and high-frequency performance
- Differential outputs (COUT/COUTbar) for single-chip counter/divider applications
- Cascadeable using TCbar for multi-stage cascading to build longer counters
- Low noise/power design - unused Q outputs can be left unterminated
