The STC3115IJT is a low-power battery gas gauge IC developed by STMicroelectronics for single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries, which accurately tracks battery state of charge without complex factory calibration.

  • Dual Fuel Gauge Measurement Technology: Combines coulomb counter and voltage monitoring algorithms. The integrated sense amplifier captures charge and discharge current, while cell voltage sampling corrects accumulated coulomb counting errors to deliver precise SoC values.
  • Low Power Consumption Design: Operating supply current is only several microamps, with a standby mode featuring nanoampere quiescent current to minimize power loss during system sleep, significantly extending battery standby time.
  • Built-in Battery Parameter Storage: On-chip non-volatile memory stores battery characteristic parameters including rated capacity, aging coefficients, and temperature compensation data, retaining information after power-off.
  • I2C Communication Interface: Standard I2C two-wire bus communicates with main MCU. The host can read real-time SoC, battery voltage, current, chip temperature, and modify configuration registers.
  • Multiple Built-in Protection Detection: Monitors battery overvoltage, undervoltage, and abnormal current. Outputs flag bits to alert the MCU of battery risks, cooperating with external charger and load switches to implement battery safety control.
