Introduction
LTC4311 Low-Voltage I²C/SMBus Accelerator
The LTC4311 is a low-voltage I²C/SMBus accelerator engineered to enhance data transmission speed and reliability for bus loads exceeding the 400pF I²C specification limit. Operating from 1.6V to 5.5V, this device supports up to 400kHz operation and maintains full SMBus compatibility.
This accelerator employs slew-limited pull-up currents to accelerate rising bus transitions while disabling current sources during falling edges and steady low states, significantly improving low-state noise margins and overall system reliability.
Key Features
  • Accelerates I²C/SMBus rise times for capacitive loads beyond 400pF
  • Supports up to 400kHz bus operation
  • Wide supply voltage range: 1.6V to 5.5V
  • Auto-detect low-power standby mode
  • Ultra-low shutdown current: <5μA
  • Slew-limited 5mA pull-up current for fast rising edges
  • Improves low-state noise margins
  • ±8kV human-body-model ESD ruggedness
  • No bus loading when disabled or powered down
  • Compact 6-pin DFN (2mm * 2mm) package
